A personal finance app that runs on a machine you own. Everything a bank, a brokerage and a spreadsheet would tell you, without a company in the middle holding the ledger.

Plume brings your accounts together — banks and cards through SimpleFIN, brokerages through SnapTrade — and keeps them current on a schedule without being asked. From there it does the work that otherwise lives in a spreadsheet: where the money went, what is quietly recurring, what the debt costs, and what the whole thing is on track to become.
The server is yours. It runs on your own hardware, reachable over Tailscale rather than published to the internet, with the database encrypted on disk. The machine holding your financial history is one you can physically point at.
It signs you in with a passkey, and every route is scoped to the person who owns the data — so a household can share an instance without sharing a ledger.

- Net worth Daily snapshots, with a scrubber chart and growth figures per time range.
- Spending Category breakdown, top merchants, recurring charges found by heuristic rather than typed in.
- Budgets Per-category monthly amounts, progress as the month runs, shared expenses split out.
- Investments Holdings with allocation and sector breakdowns, portfolio history, refreshed prices.
- Debt Avalanche or snowball payoff planning, projected to a date, with interest paid to now.
- Credit Score logged over time, utilisation measured against your real limits.
- Planning Retirement and FIRE projection from what the accounts actually show.
- Alerts Price moves, concentration, budget overruns, credit utilisation, new merchants, milestones — pushed to your phone.
How we build it

It runs on your hardware
Not a promise about what we do with your data — an arrangement where we never hold it. A Raspberry Pi at home is enough, reachable over Tailscale, with nothing exposed to the open internet.

Encrypted at rest, and portable
The database is encrypted on disk with SQLCipher, so a stolen drive is not a stolen financial history. Everything exports — passphrase-encrypted if you want it — and imports back. Deleting an account deletes what belongs to it.

The AI runs on your key
Categorisation, monthly insights and the assistant use Claude through an API key you supply. The app shows what each feature has cost and holds it to a monthly cap you set, because a helper that quietly spends your money is not a helper.
What it costs
There is no subscription to us, because there is no service of ours for you to subscribe to — the thing runs on your hardware.
What it does cost is what you choose to connect. SimpleFIN charges a small monthly fee for bank aggregation and you pay them directly. The AI features bill against your own Anthropic key at whatever cap you set. We are not a party to either, and neither is required to use the app.

Pre-release builds, distributed for testing. iOS installs only on devices already registered with the provisioning profile. Android needs installation from an unknown source to be allowed. EAS artifact links expire, and this page refreshes on a schedule.
Legal
Plume is unreleased and has no published privacy policy or terms yet. Both will be published here before any public release. Because it is self-hosted, the data it holds sits on your machine rather than ours — which shapes what those documents will have to say, and shortens them considerably.
